Match 1 on Saturday afternoon was against AFC Rumney and Fastfield were quick out of the blocks with an excellent pressing and passing game which AFCR found difficult to live with. Two goals in the first half from B Wells and J Fearn set the boys on their way and a third followed in the second half when L Milner rounded off a brilliant 6 pass move which began on the boys goal-line. Man of the match: B Wells.
Match 2 followed soon after however this time the opposition, Malden Town Pumas provided a sterner test for the team. We might reasonably have expected the football to be the highlight of the day however it was very nearly surpassed by the quality of the barbecue and liquid refreshment on offer in the evening. Fastfield's constant pressure eventually told when L Quan followed up a shot that was parried by the keeper to shoot into the empty net and this was followed soon after by a great strike from Z Robinson that looked like it would be the final score of the match. L Milner saved the best to last however as, with seconds left on the clock, he beat a man tight on the goal line line before planting a right foot shot from an impossible angle in to the far corner. Man of the match: Z Robinson
Match 6 brought another accomplished display as Fastfield proved too strong for Panshanger Panthers.
